Associate Attorney
  • Profile

Melissa Cass Pickett has been practicing law since 2008 and has focused her attention on family matters. Melissa has a passion for her work that started in law school when she handled domestic violence cases with a student bar card in a program sponsored by the Harris County District Attorney’s office. That law school experience inspired Melissa to work for a non-profit agency called Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse, where she appeared in court frequently, gaining valuable trial experience. Melissa then transitioned into private practice, representing clients in divorce, paternity, child support, and protective orders cases. Melissa also is active in professional activities such as her membership in the Burta Raburn Inn of Court, which is an organization devoted to the improvement of skills, professionalism, and ethics of the Bench and the Bar. Melissa also serves on the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee considering complaints of attorney misconduct. Melissa’s zealous advocacy for her clients is just one component of her approach to practicing law. She has compassion and understanding of the circumstances and the challenges that clients face in their family law matters.
