A 5-year-old boy was left by himself in a Kohl's parking lot in Wichita, Kansas last week. The boy was reportedly with his grandmother earlier on a shopping trip, according to The Wichita Eagle. The 41-year-old grandmother reportedly had raised the boy since infancy. She was caught shoplifting over $200 worth of clothes, and came back to Kohl's to return the items. However, she did not take her grandson with her when she fled the scene, and authorities found the boy alone. No relatives appeared before the judge to claim the boy, so he will be placed in temporary foster care. The Department for Children and Families is continuing to try and find any relatives who can help care for the boy in the meantime.
