ABC News reported that Bexar County is cracking down on those who are delinquent in their child support payments. There is now a team that has been assembled specifically for finding the law-breakers within the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit.
Though there is over $32.4 million in unpaid support now, BCSO has made a lot of progress, making more arrests than the other county in Texas. Two deputies commented on the seriousness of this offense, and try to play it safe by approaching the evaders as a team in case things get out of hand. Deputy Derek Uresti and his partner recently made an arrest and reminded the offender that he “brought these kids into the world,” and the the Attorney General decides what he pays.
