Couple Flees to Mexico to Avoid Custody Hearing

A married couple left the country last December with two children after missing a custody hearing. The mother, Brittany Morgan Nunn and her husband, Peter David Barr, Sr fled the U.S. with Nunn’s six and four-year-old. Immigration officials found the mother with her two children and Barr in Cabo San Lucas after eight months of searching for the children. The group was taken into custody by Mexican Immigration last week and deported to Denver. The children each had a father waiting for them to arrive in Colorado, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations was also called to the scene. The mother of the children and her husband were taken to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and later arrested.
