Former NFL Cheerleader Convicted of Rape

A woman who was once a cheerleader for the Baltimore Ravens, has plead guilty to fourth-degree rape. Molly Shattuck, 48, admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy last year and performing oral sex on him last summer. The minor was a friend of Shattuck’s sons, and the pair used text messages and email to communicate and arrange some meetings in cars.

The original charge for Shattuck was more severe – third-degree rape, unlawful sexual contact and giving alcohol to minors, but after a plea bargain, it was reduced. Shattuck will not go to prison, but was sentenced to two years of probation and will have to report to a violation of probation center every other weekend for two years. The parents of the 15-year-old told the judge they thought her offense should be taken more seriously saying, “Any adult who rapes a child deserves to be in prison. Please hold her accountable.” Shattucks’ attorney pointed out that the messages between the boy and Shattuck make it look like it was a mutual attraction between two adults, but said his client does take full responsibility.
