Bail Set for Mother Who Illegally Took Kids Out of State

Bail has been set for a Maine woman who illegally took her children to Louisiana. On Monday, a judge set the woman’s bail at $500 after an assistant district attorney requested that it be set at $10,000 cash. The woman, who is only permitted supervised visits with her children, took her kids, ranging in age from 4 to 14 years old, to Louisiana in February. The father of the children, who has custody, contacted the police after he learned that the mother had left the state. The woman was arrested in Louisiana and extradited to Maine.
